During road trips north along Canada's Dempster Highway through the Yukon and Northwest Territories, Don and I were mesmerized by the rugged wilderness vistas. It will forever be a favorite place for road trips which we did more than once despite hoards of mosquitos and the sharp edged gravel road surface. We didn't always return unscathed from those adventures. Once a free-range horse tried to take a bite out of our red Mazda.
